City Water Plant Will Shut Down Overnight

Havre de Grace residents may experience low water pressure into Wednesday morning.

In an automated call around 7:30 p.m., the city said: "Provided there are no unforeseen occurences, the plant will be back in service by 3 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1."

There may be little to no water pressure, the city said.

Overnight emergencies may be directed to at 410-939-2121. During daytime hours—from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.—issues may be directed to at 410-939-1800.

Director of Public Works Larry Parks told last week that an original valve at the plant required replacing. A replacement part failed in an overnight repair last week, forcing the morning shutdown at the plant.

Parks explained the city would approach the valve replacement about a week later, after a new part was manufactured and the city had restocked its reserve water supply.
