Disabled Boat on Susquehanna Draws Emergency Response

Three people were on board the disabled boat, but natural resources police say they were in no imminent danger.

A disabled boat near the drew emergency units to the area Saturday evening.

Around 6:15 p.m. the engine of a boat on the Susquehanna River started smoking and the three people, Sgt. Art Windemuth, spokesman for Maryland Natural Resources Police, said Saturday.

"We do have two units responding," Windemuth said, clarifying, "It is not a boat fire."

Windemuth said the three people on board the boat are not in any immediate danger and units were on the way to assist the disabled boat.
