Driver Alleges Imaginary Friend Wrecked Car

The incident took place on Blenheim Farm Lane on March 15.

A woman alleged that her imaginary friend was driving her vehicle when it struck an iron gate in the 300 block of Blenheim Lane in last week.

Kimberly Boyles, 47, of the 500 block of Counterpoint Circle allegedly struck an iron gate on Blenheim Farm Lane around 8:56 a.m. on March 15.

When officers arrived at the scene, they asked Boyles—then outside of the vehicle—if she had been driving. She replied that she hadn't, but that it was her "imaginary friend Chuck,” whom she said had departed the scene before officers arrived, according to Julie Morgan of the .

Boyles was transported to for evaluation.

She was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, driving while impaired by a controlled dangerous substance and driving on a suspended license.
