GIRLS LACROSSE: Warriors Win Marathon

Havre de Grace won in the final minute of the sixth overtime Tuesday.

Two halves of play just wasn't enough for the Tuesday at Edgewood.

The Warriors wanted more.

defeated Edgewood, 14-13, on Margaret Stump's free position shot with 10 seconds left in the sixth overtime Tuesday evening.

"The last four [overtime periods] were sudden death. A great game was played by both teams," Warriors coach Sarah Scholl said.

The Warriors (3-2 overall) led at halftime, 8-5, but the Rams tied the game at 12 by the end of regulation.

Stump led the way with five goals while twin sisters Carly and Katie Thompson each scored three goals. Helen Boniface had two goals and a team-high six interceptions. Kara Neiberlein also scored a goal for the Warriors, while Colleen McCormick had an assist.

In the goal, Abbie Blessing made 14 saves.

Caitlin Rankin scored four times for the Rams. Alyssa Rankin and Ladae Boykin had three each. Natalee Olah scored twice and Megan Poniatowski added a single goal. 

Boykin also had an assist.

Taylor Kennedy-Larosa made 15 saves and Cidney Bomhardt made two saves in the Edgewood goal.

The Warriors dropped two games in a spring break tournament last week in Anne Arundel County.

Havre de Grace played two of the more powerful programs in the state, losing to Institute of Notre Dame, 11-4, and Seton Keough, 12-4.

Against Seton Keough, Katie Thompson scored twice, while Carly Thompson and Kylee Barber had a goal each.

The trio—plus McCormick—also scored individual goals in the loss to Institute of Notre Dame. Boniface had an assist against IND.

The Warriors are 3-2 heading into .
