Havre de Grace Plays For Softball State Title
Havre de Grace's senior softball team plays at 6 p.m. Thursday at Stancill Field.

Big games are the norm for these girls—be it Little League, travel, club or high school.
So it comes as no surprise that the manager of the Havre de Grace senior softball team said Thursday his team is calm and prepared to play for the state championship.

"They're ready to go," Thompson told . "They're ready to play."
Maybe the calm is being able to sleep in their own beds and play on the diamond they've called home their entire lives.

Havre de Grace hosts St. Mary's at 6 p.m. Thursday at —the home park of Havre de Grace Little League.
"I've had a lot of calls," said Thompson, who works for the . "I would anticipate a good crowd."
The Warriors are coming from the winner's bracket, while St. Mary's needed a win Wednesday in the consolation final to reach the championship round.
The home team needs to win once. St. Mary's would have to upset Havre de Grace twice.
The team includes Riley Arnold, Hailey Bethke, Megan Thompson, Ashley Algard, Rebecca Ashman, Abigail Harrison, Kateri Peters, Lindsey Fenner, Sarah Scott and Addie Richardson.
Thompson's coaches are Ernie Grady and Tom Caine.

"They have through different teams: high school, Little League. They're a close group. They're friends on and off the field," Thompson said. "They're good kids from good families. They're really fun to be around."
