House Fire In Havre De Grace Under Investigation
The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at a home that was undergoing renovations, authorities said.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon at a Havre de Grace residence, causing approximately $75,000 in damage.
According to a news release from the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, crews responded to a blaze at a single-story home located at 704 Glenville Rd. around 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters were able to contain the bulk of the fire to the home's exterior; however, the building sustained extensive smoke, soot and water damage.

Authorities said the home was in the final stages of being renovated before the fire, and workers had finished staining the floors Tuesday morning. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities said that spontaneous combustion of oily rags could not be ruled out.
Nobody was home at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported, authorities said.
