Interstate 95 Reopens After Tanker Incident
A tanker overturned on I-95 at Tydings Bridge near the Susquehanna River Tuesday morning.

UPDATE: (5:27 p.m.)—Interstate 95 has reopened, according to Maryland State Police. U.S. Route 40 eastbound remains congested.
UPDATE: (10:12 a.m.)—An overturned tanker closed Interstate 95 at the Tydings Bridge Tuesday morning.
Northbound and southbound lanes were shut down. Northbound traffic was diverted onto MD Route 155 and then onto U.S. Route 40 to cross the Susquehanna River via the Hatem Bridge.

Due to overflow traffic, travel on U.S. Route 40 eastbound was significantly delayed starting at Blenheim Road in Havre de Grace.
U.S. Route 1, via the Conowingo Dam, is the only other option to cross the Susquehanna River south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst said a tanker had overturned. Multiple radio and television reports indicated there was a fuel spill.
