Lorien Facility Underway on Route 40

The nursing facility will be built in three phases.

Havre de Grace's older residents will have a new option when it comes to staying in the community.

Lorien Health is building an assisted living facility along U.S. Route 40 at the entrance to . The project is being built in three phases, according to Jay Bautz of the planning department. 

The first phase is under way, but the final two phases may not be completed for a number of years.

According to the site plan—see the PDF included with this post—those phases include nursing facility, followed by a assisted living and therapy facility, with a potential future two-story medical office.

The first phase will include 78 beds with 26 parking spaces. The second and third phases will involve 97 more beds with 33 more parking spaces. With the possible addition of the future office space, the parking lot will hold more than 150 spaces.

The project is a $9.5 million facility, according to Explore Harford.

The Havre de Grace facility is being built on a 4.731-acre site by Lutherville-based Commercial Contractors, Inc.

A total of 120 employees would staff the facility when all three phases are complete.

Lorien also has facilities in Bel Air and Riverside.
