Horn is looking forward to interacting with more downtown shop owners and hopes Saturday is the start of that process.

"I think its so important to know what we all carry," she said. "In the last year, I can count on one hand who has come into the store that are shop owners, and I have been in every single shop since we've been there. I'm hoping that's what Saturday brings: a little curiosity from other merchants."

The Horns have full-time jobs outside of running the shop. Gerald is an electrician in Baltimore County and Jennie works for an insurance agency.

"The balance will be easier once we move," she said. "We make it work. We're a great pair. Neither of us could do it without the other. We may not have as many home-cooked meals as we had but we make it work."

The business began through a direct sales company in 2006. It morphed into farmers markets, trade shows and business shows, Horn said.

Now, the store is stocked with eco-friendly candles—all made in the Unite States. It also carries fragrance oils made in India.

The store will also be unveiling a new product special for Mob The Merchant customers—Horn wouldn't leak the secret to Patch.

For the Horns, candles aren't just a way to light up a room—they brighten lives.

"The store is our happy place that makes us money," she said. "We love going to the store. It's not work at all."
