Randy Craig Named City Council President
Havre de Grace City Council selected a new council president Monday.

Randy Craig has been unanimously selected as the Havre de Grace City Council President for 2012-2013.
City Council was in a closed session for more than an hour late Monday night, following the swearing-in of incumbent Council President Bill Martin and newly elected council members Joseph Smith and Dave Glenn. They were elected in a citywide election on May 8.
The meeting went into a closed session around 8:45 p.m. and council members began to trickle back into the council chambers at 10 p.m. following the closed session deliberation to select a new president.

The meeting reconvened at 10:08 p.m.
Martin served the past two terms as City Council president. He made the motion for Craig to become Council President. The motion was seconded by Councilman John Correri and ratified by a unanimous vote by the new council.

Craig was re-elected in May 2011 with the highest vote total in the election. He will be up for re-election in May 2013.
Craig served as City Council President in 2009-2010.
