Warriors Earn $2.7 Million in Awards

The 174-student Class of 2012 graduates from Havre de Grace High School Thursday.

The 174 students in ’s Class of 2012 earned approximately $2.7 million in scholarships and awards.

That figure includes those scholarships awarded by college and universities that the graduates have opted not to attend.

A number of those awards were presented Wednesday morning during the senior awards ceremony in the auditorium.

Graduation is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Havre de Grace High School auditorium.

Eight students were recognized as being in the top five percent of all students in Harford County, including: , , , , , , Andrea Skaggs and .

Another set of students was presented a chord to wear over their gowns to distinguish themselves for high academic achievement. That group included: , Kevin Blackburn, Rebecca Coates, Tony Cofrancesco, Tyler Cook, Woodrow Hower, Kaitlyn Husfelt, Brett Jewell, Amy Kahl, Hayley Kitts, Jenna Newton, Logan Poore, Emily Schall, Elise Starkey, Michael Whaley and Christopher Worrell

Other awards and scholarships as presented during the ceremony:

  • MD General Assembly Recognition by Councilwoman Mary Ann Lisanti: Anthony Cofrancesco
  • Meadowvale PTA Scholarship: Katie Bubb and Anthony Cofrancesco
  • Black Youth In Action Award: Alyx McClelland and Jasmine Currie
  • Brian Anthony Wilson Scholarship: Keith Sifford ($250), David Amici ($250), Emily Schall ($750), Robert Orzewicz ($1,250), Katie Bubb ($2,000), Anthony Cofrancesco ($2,000) and David Beck ($4,000).
  • Chevron T. Pace Memorial Scholarship: Tyler Cook ($500)
  • Cody G. Richardson Memorial Scholarship: Steven Ashman ($1,000)
