Gunpowder South Trail Dedicated to Cockeysville Resident
The area has been renamed the Lefty Kreh Fishing Trail.

A Cockeysville resident now has a lasting legacy in Northern Baltimore County.
On Monday, the Gunpowder South Trail was renamed the Left Kreh Fishing Trail after renowned fishing writer Bernard Victor "Lefty" Kreh, according to a news release from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
The area dedicated to the former Baltimore Sun outdoor editor stretches from Prettyboy Reservoir to Bluemont Road in Hereford.

The department is also honoring Kreh through the 2012 Maryland Fishing Challenge, the release states. During the summer, about 600 rockfish worth $500 a piece will be tagged and release. In addition, a grand-prize Diamond Jim will be released. Every month, the Diamond Jim goes uncaught the bounty increases from $10,000 in June, $20,000 in July and $25,000 in August.
