Rosen Secures District 1 Democratic Nomination
John LaFerla conceded to the Cockeysville woman in the close primary race on Wednesday.

, a Cockeysville resident, will face off against Republican Rep. Andy Harris in the Congressional District 1 general election in November.
John LaFerla, of Chestertown, conceded to Rosen in the tight Democratic primary election through a post on his campaign Facebook page on Wednesday evening.
"Now that most of the absentee and provisional ballots have been counted, it is clear that the result of the Democratic Primary in the 1st Congressional District will not change and I will not be nominee of our party," LaFerla wrote on the Facebook page.

He then urged his supporters to rally around his former competitor.
"I would like to congratulate Wendy Rosen for winning the nomination of our party and I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy and urge all my supporters to get behind her so we can defeat Andy Harris this November," LaFerla wrote.

In a November 2011 interview with Patch, she said her priorities are working to create sustainable jobs, , and universal health care.
