#CAFYNoBystanders Block Takeover Event Set for April 18
Come out on Saturday, April 18 for an important event to empower victims and survivors of crime in the community.
Community Advocates for Family & Youth (CAFY), an organization dedicated to supporting the victims of crimes in the community, wants you to get involved in the #CAFYNoBystanders Block Takeover event.
On April 18, 2015, the National Crime Victims’ Rights Coalition of Prince George’s County presents the No Bystanders Block Takeover. The event aims to empower victims through a variety of activities, including a survivors march, resource clinic and healing program.
When: Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Cost: Free and open to the public

The event’s activities include:
- 10:00-11:00 a.m. — 500 Survivors for Victims’ Rights March — Come march for yourself, a loved one, your organization or your community. This 1.5 mile march starts and ends at the Kentland/Palmer Park Recreation Center.
- 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. — #CAFYNoBystanders Rally — Listen to words from survivors of violence and crime, advocates and community members on their journey and take a stand.
- 12:30-3:00 p.m. — Know Your Rights Resource Clinic & Fair — Speak with victim service organizations, legal advocates, case managers and mental health professionals about available resources and your rights.
- 1:30-2:00 p.m. — Path to Healing Balloon Release — Release a balloon for yourself, a loved one, your organization, or your community.
- Throughout the day, there will also be live music, an art show contest, food vendors and more.
