Going on Green: How Hyattsville Uses the Metro
On May 27 through May 30, Metro has significant work plans for some of its lines.

We Green Liners should be okay on the Metro during the Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 through May 30, but those of you planning to transfer to the Blue and Orange Lines, with their long list of construction plans -- pack a little patience with you.
Red Line also has construction, but the Blue and Orange Lines have the distinct honor of having the longest list of construction since I started writing this report.
I've shorthanded some of it for you -- you can thank me now -- and put the very long laundry list of last train times at the end of this report, so you don't have to get bogged down in them.

Before we get to the construction breakdown, please keep this weekend travel tip in mind: Customers traveling to the Memorial Day concert at the U.S. Capitol on Sunday, May 29, are encouraged to exit at Union Station, except those traveling from Northern Virginia, who may wish to exit at L’Enfant Plaza. In addition, D.C. Circulator bus service is available between Union Station and Navy Yard via Capitol Hill for those traveling to the concert or to weekend baseball games.

If you're taking public transportation, Metro says the Trip Planner will not reflect the Memorial Day weekend work impact.
Orange/Blue Line is closed from Federal Center SW to Minnesota Ave/Benning Road. Metro will conduct significant work on the Blue, Orange and Red lines over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.
On the Blue and Orange lines, buses will replace trains between Federal Center SW and Minnesota Ave and Benning Road stations, and four stations—Capitol South, Eastern Market, Potomac Ave and Stadium-Armory will be closed. The work will begin at 10 p.m., Friday, May 27, and continue through closing on Monday, May 30.
Through the work zone, free shuttle buses will operate on two routes: one replacing Blue Line trains and another replacing Orange Line trains. Metro says buses will depart shortly after each train arrives. Metro advises customers to allow approximately 40-minutes additional travel time if using bus service, which may be impacted by traffic from the Stars, Stripes and Spokes motorcycle event at RFK Stadium.
