Murder Suspect From Hyattsville Arrested In West Virginia: Police
A Hyattsville man accused of murdering a man in a double shooting in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. has been arrested.

GEORGETOWN, DC — A Hyattsville man accused of gunning down a 19-year-old in a double shooting in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. has been arrested, police said.
Police arrested Demarius Anton Jackson, 24, of Hyattsville for the death of Kennedy Javier Amaya-Olivares, 19, of Severn.
The Metropolitan Police Department says the shooting occurred in the 3500 block of Water Street, NW, near the Key Bridge at about 2:51 a.m. July 8. Amaya-Olivares was pronounced dead at the scene

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jackson in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Jackson was held in West Virginia until he was extradited to D.C., where he was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
