"Million Meal" Commitment Fights Hunger in Prince George's County
The Peterson Family Foundation is working to boost nutrition and help families in the area.

Over the next three years, the equivalent of one million meals will be given to hungry families in Prince George’s County.
The “Million Meal” contribution is apart of the Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative to give nutritious meals to those in need and uplift communities throughout the area.
“Between the slow economic recovery and cutbacks in federal spending over the past few years, there remain many families in Prince George’s County who continue to struggle with basic needs like food and proper nutrition,” Pastor of Fort Foote Baptist Joseph W. Lyles said in a news release.

The Peterson Family Foundation and National Harbor will be working together to offer meals at various sites including the Fort Foote Baptist Church. There will be six communities within Prince George’s County that will be the focus of distribution.
“This type of long-term commitment, and the fresh produce that will be a substantial part of each delivery, will make a real difference in the lives of many families and children,” Lyles said in a news release.
