Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck By Car: Police

LAUREL, MD — A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a car in Laurel Sunday night, police said.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Contee Road at Laurel Bowie Road.

Arriving officers located the woman unresponsive in the roadway and determined she was hit while crossing the street, police said.

The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police said. The driver who hit her remained on the scene.

Contee Road is open in both directions as of Monday morning, police said.
