Police Seek Man in Shooting Incident at Laurel Supermarket

Police said a man suspected of shoplifting stole a security guard's gun at the Weis Market in Laurel.

Anne Arundel County police have released images of a man wanted in connection to a shooting incident at the Weis Market in Laurel. 

Police said they responded at about 8 p.m. Sunday to the store, located at the 3300 block of Corridor Market Place. They spoke to a security guard at the store, who told officers that he tried to stop a man he suspected of shoplifting.

The man and the security guard struggled, and the suspect stole the security guard's handgun. 

According to the security guard, the the suspect fired several shots in the store and ran off.
