Woman Dies In Laurel Car Crash: Police
A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Laurel Monday evening, police said. The victim has been identified as Lucia Espirtu-Cortez, 46.

LAUREL, MD — A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Laurel Monday evening, police said. The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Lucia Espirtu-Cortez.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Laurel Bowie Road and Bowie Road at about 5:25 p.m., police said.
Espirtu-Cortez was riding in a van that was traveling northbound on Laurel Bowie Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Bowie Road. A second vehicle traveling southbound on Laurel Bowie Road collided with the van, police told Patch.

Espirtu-Cortez was rushed to a hospital where she died a short time later, police said. The driver, a second passenger in the van and the driver of the second car suffered non-life threatening injuries.
