• Victim, Deputy And Suspect Named In Deadly Calvert County Police-Involved Collision (thebaynet.com) — A Lusby resident, 58-year-old Servon Gatewood, has been identified as the victim in a fatal officer-involved vehicle collision investigated by Maryland’s Independent Investigations Division. The crash happened December 12 in Prince Frederick and involved a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy and another driver, who was arrested by Maryland State Police. Investigators are asking anyone with information or video to contact the IID. 
• Calvert Honors Legacy of Education and Service (southernmarylandchronicle.com) — Lusby residents are part of a countywide celebration honoring local leaders in education, civil rights, and youth mentorship, from historic W.S. Brooks High School alumni to modern STEM advocates. County commissioners and the Calvert NAACP recognized community members and Bowie State University’s 160th anniversary, highlighting progress from school segregation to today’s scholarship and mentoring programs. The event encourages continued inclusion and mentorship in communities from Lusby to Chesapeake Beach.
