1. William Harrison Myers (smnewsnet.com) — Family and friends in Mechanicsville will note that William Harrison Myers’ son, Joseph, lives in town, tying his legacy to the community. Myers, of Welcome and formerly Brandywine, passed away December 5 and will be honored today with services in Charlotte Hall and burial in Waldorf.
   

2. Steven Everett LeSueur, 65, (smnewsnet.com) — Mechanicsville residents are mourning the passing of 65-year-old Steven Everett LeSueur, who died at his home on December 4. A Suitland native and longtime sprinkler fitter with Local 669, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved fishing, Washington sports teams, and sharing music—especially Deep Purple—with his cherished family.
   

3. Mechanicsville Arson Suspect Seen Running From Flames, Yelling About Fire In His Yard: Marshal (dailyvoice.com) — A Mechanicsville man has been charged after several intentionally set fires were reported Tuesday night along the 26400 block of Three Notch Road, with local firefighters quickly containing the flames. Investigators say surveillance video and on-scene behavior led to his arrest, and officials credit the coordinated response of Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, K9 Taylor, and St. Mary’s County deputies with preventing further danger to nearby residents.
   

4. James 'Jimmy' Calvin Brumfield Jr., (smnewsnet.com) — Family and friends in Mechanicsville are mourning James “Jimmy” Calvin Brumfield Jr., whose nieces and sister live in town and remember his warmth and generosity. The longtime tree surgeon and Army National Guard veteran, originally from Bowie, will be honored at a memorial celebration on December 16 at the Baden Fire Department in Brandywine.
