Larry Abramson Joins NKFMDDE Board

Healthcare and business consultant brings 20+ years of experience to the nonprofit

LUTHERVILLE, Md. (May 23, 2022) −The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware (NKFMDDE) has elected Larry Abramson to a two-year term on its board of directors.

A healthcare and business consultant, Abramson brings 20 years of industry experience. After holding sales and management positions with such companies as Spectranetics, Abbott Laboratories and Marriott International, Inc., he served as executive director of Skin Care Specialty Physicians and Maryland Vascular Specialists.

He currently is president of Strategic Healthcare Advisors, LLC, which he launched during the COVID pandemic to provide operational guidance and support to healthcare providers and business owners.

In addition to his day-to-day role consulting physicians’ practices that work with kidney disease patients, he shares a personal connection to kidney disease.

“It started as a back pain and the next thing I knew I was having a partial laparoscopic nephrectomy at Johns Hopkins Bayview,” Abramson explains. “After successfully having my kidney tumor removed, I thought my kidney problems were behind me, but the subsequent diagnosis of FSGS took me down the path of learning to deal with long-term kidney disease.”

“My personal journey has landed me on the NKFMDDE board of directors and I am proud to be a part of it,” he added. “I want to participate in raising awareness about kidney disease and continue to support medical professionals who provide kidney care.”

Abramson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wilkes College and serves on Stevenson University’s Healthcare Management Program Advisory Board. He resides in Baltimore’s Quarry Lake at Greenspring community with his wife, Randi, and their children, Zachary and Carly.
