Member of Baltimore Political Family Receives Probation
Frank M. Conaway III received three years of probation for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.

Frank M. Conaway III, the son of a state lawmaker and the grandson of the clerk of Baltimore City Circuit Court, has been sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to drug and fleeing charges.
Conaway, 21, pleaded guilty to the possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute and one count of flee and elude on July 9, according to electronic court records.
As a result, he received three years of supervised probation for the possession charge and three years for the fleeing charge. Both of those sentences will run concurrently, according to court records.

The judge also ordered him to abstain from drugs and alcohol, undergo drug testing and fined him $355.

Conaway, of Reisterstown, was initially arrested along with his sister Lacynda Conaway last December, but charges against her were later dropped.
Conaway is the son of Del. Frank M. Conaway Jr., D-District 40, who represents parts of North Baltimore in the Maryland General Assembly. His grandfather Frank M. Conaway Sr. is the clerk of Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Belinda Conaway, Frank Conaway III's aunt, used to represent the Hampden, Medfield and Woodberry communities on the Baltimore City Council. But she lost her re-election following the dismissal of a $21 million lawsuit she filed against a blogger who raised questions about her status as a city resident after she filed for the homestead tax credit on a Baltimore County home.
