Engineering Feat: Bridge Made of Spaghetti Holds Pounds of Weight

High School students from 21 states and eight countries competed in Johns Hopkins University's Spaghetti Bridge Contest.

After a four-week summer course called Engineering Innovation, 115 high school students from 21 states and eight countries competed in a Spaghetti Bridge Contest at Johns Hopkins University.

Students built the bridges from only dry spaghetti and epoxy.

In the video above, watch the bridge by team "Can’t Truss This" hold 10.8 kilograms, or 23.8099 pounds. Although that’s impressive, it still wasn’t anywhere near the competition record of 132 pounds.
