North Potomac Woman Dies In Two-Vehicle Crash: Police

A North Potomac woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Darnestown Road Saturday night.

NORTH POTOMAC, MD — A 69-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in North Potomac Saturday night, authorities said.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Blackberry Drive around 8:30 p.m.

Pamela Sharma, of North Potomac, was a passenger in the front seat of a 2018 Toyota RAV4, according to Montgomery County police. The vehicle was traveling west on Darnestown Road and tried to turn left onto Blackberry Drive.

"For reasons still under investigation," the Toyota collided with a 2017 BMW i3 that was traveling east on Darnestown Road, police said.

Sharma and the driver of the Toyota were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Sharma eventually died.

Police said the driver of the BMW — identified as a 39-year-old woman from Tennessee — was not seriously injured in the crash.
