$189 Million Maryland Lottery Winner Bought Ticket in Severn
The Dash In convenience store in Severn sold a lottery ticket worth $189 million. If you played, check your numbers.
Time to check your laundry, a Severn gas station sold a $189 million lottery ticket.
The winning ticket, which has a cash option of $129 million, matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions  lottery, including the Mega Ball. Winning numbers were 7, 10, 30, 37, 53 and Mega Ball 1.
Sukhwinder Singh, who owns the Dash In store on Quarterfield Road, said someone bought the ticket on Tuesday night. He said he doesn't know who the winner is, but that he's likely to be someone he knows, as about 95 percent of people who buy lottery tickets are repeat customers.Â
Sukhwinder gets a $100,000 bonus, which he said he'll probably use to take a big vacation.Â
Lottery spokeswoman Carole Everett said the winner has not yet presented themselves. The winner has 182 days to claim their prize and must present their ticket in person at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
Everett said that the winning ticket was the only one sold throughout the nation, so the state of Maryland will net more than $11 million in taxes.Â
