The parents and children of the Severna Park Stingrays Swim Team turned out in the masses on Severn Patch after we , Ken Keer, for his contrubtions to the team and the community.
An 8-year veteran of the team, Keer will step down from his post as head coach, a decision that left many who knew him sad and nostalgic.Â

His resignation was slightly overshadowed by Gary Williams' the University of Maryland Basketball program, but when he officially steps down on May 27, the team will surely have a hole that will be difficult to fill.Â

Keeping up with the military theme Severn Patch took last week after the death of bin Laden, we covered a special event at Fort Meade that highlighted military spouses and their tireless devotion to the servicemen and women from the local base.Â
Beth Chiarelli, a 30-year Army wife, said that the Obama's call military spouses "the force behind the force."
More than 80 woman and one man ate at the luncheon and were encouraged by the powerful words of Chiarelli, who during her career, has moved her family 25 times in 30 years.Â
