Angry Customer Shoots Tow Truck In Severn: Police

An angry customer shot a tow truck in Severn, police said. The unknown suspect berated the driver about his response time beforehand.

SEVERN, MD — An angry customer shot a tow truck this weekend in Severn, police announced Monday.

Officers said a tow truck driver arrived at the scene of a tow request in the 900 block of Reece Road shortly before 6:40 p.m. Friday.

The woman who requested the tow "began berating the tow operator and arguing about his response time," authorities said.

The driver declined to tow the vehicle and started to drive away, but police said the woman fired a single shot from a handgun and hit his truck.

Nobody was hurt.

Officers said the woman drove away in a black sedan.

Authorities are still investigating.
