Board to Review Seven Oaks Kindergarten Addition
The school board on June 5 will review specifications for the project, and will also get details on open space closures at Meade High School

The county school board will vote this week on the details of expansion and renovation work at several local schools, including a kindergarten addition at Seven Oaks Elementary School and open space closures at Meade High School.Â
The board will review and vote on a total of seven projects at its meeting on Wednesday.Â
The kindergarten addition at Seven Oaks calls for four additional classrooms, boosting the school's capacity from 655 to 743 students. The project would cost $2 million and would be completed by the middle of the 2014-15 school year.Â

At Meade High, the cost of enclosing classroom spaces would cost the school system an estimated $5 million. The project, if approved, would be in line for completion in time for the 2016-17 school year.Â
Also on Wednesday, the board will vote on the Facilities Master Plan and will be briefed on the 2014 budget, which is expected to be voted on Tuesday by the county council.
