DISA Employees Take Their Kids to Work

About 215 sons and daughters came to the campus on Fort Meade to see how their parents help support the armed forces.

The Defense Information Systems Agency opened its doors to more than 200 young people on Thursday, holding its first Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day.

The agency organized a series of interactive sessions and workshops on information technology and cybersecurity, while offering insight into career opportunities in the field.

DISA supports the computer infrastructure used by the Armed Forces.

“One of the things that you’re going to find out as you walk around headquarters today is that DISA does a lot of things,” DISA Director Air Force Lt Gen Ronnie D. Hawkins Jr. said in an announcement. “Your moms and dads do a lot of things for the entire Department of Defense: the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, the Coast Guardsmen, and a lot of other agencies.”
