Fire Consumes Garage in Jessup
Firefighters worked to keep the blaze from spreading to the home on Montevideo Road

Firefighters responded Sunday afternoon to a fire that consumed a garage and damaged a home in Jessup.Â
Units arrived at about 4:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of Montevideo Road and found fire coming from a detached garage, according to Keith Swindle, a Division Chief with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The fire had also extended into the main residence.Â
It took 21 firefighters about 45 minutes to get the blaze under control. No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the incident is under investigation and there was no immediate estimate on the cost of damage.Â
