Fort Meade Closes Children's Library Due to Mold
The library in Kuhn Hall on Llewellyn Avenue will remain closed until the mold can be remediated, officials said.

Fort Meade closed its Children's Library on Lllewellyn Avenue on Wednesday after the discovery of mold in the basement.Â
Officials announced on the Fort Meade Facebook page that the library will remain closed until further notice until the mold is remediated.Â
"The Garrison noticed mold in the basement of Bldg 4415 and [Installation Commander] Col. Edward Rothstein determined that in the interest of safety it would be best to close the facility until the mold is remediated," Fort Meade officials said. "The mold is expected to be caused by recent humid tempretures and weather. According to safety officials, there has been no threat to individuals health up to this point."
The installation library next to Kuhn Hall on Llewellyn Avenue will remain open, and Fort Meade residents are also encouraged to go to the Potomac Place library on post, or the Provinces Branch library in Severn or West County Area Library in Severn.Â
