Get Out! Weekend Planner: Oct. 20-27

Wondering what to do this weekend? How about learning something new, donating to a good cause or catching a little Halloween thrill? Here are Patch's picks for fun and inspiring ways to spend your free time.

  • When/Where: 7 p.m., Friday, at the , 623 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. Severna Park.
  • Why Go: There will be a haunted house for all ages, plus, new this year, is Creature Feature from 6:30-9 p.m. for younger or more timid children.
  • Cost: Haunted House is $8 for adults, $5 for children. Creature Feature is $10 per child, free for kids under 3.

Fall Festival at Gambrills General Store and David's Natural Market

  • When/Where: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at Gambrills General Store, 865 Annapolis Road, Gambrills.
  • Why Go: Free food samples, vendors, special sales, activities for the kids, including a moon bounce. This is the unofficial Grand Opening of the Gambrills General Store.
  • Cost: Free 

“Unveiling the Mystique of the Muslim Woman"

  • When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Anne Arundel Community College
  • Why Go: Event includes professional presentations, discussions and cultural immersion through art, food, music and fashion.
  • Cost: Free

  • When/Where: 9 a.m., Sunday, Camp Letts Road
  • Why Go: Raise money for American Cancer Society in memory of Donna Brashears, who died at age 58 of lung cancer.
  • Cost: $30

  • When/Where: noon, Saturday, Village at Waugh Chapel
  • Why Go: It's a holiday outdoor family fun event in the plaza area. Pumpkin decorating, face painting, prizes.
  • Cost: Free.
