Have Ideas for Transportation Solutions in Anne Arundel?

Have something to say about transportation in Anne Arundel County? County officials want to hear it.

County Executive Laura Neuman has launched a Transportation Commission charged with providing input to transportation programs across the county.

Among the first steps of the commission will be to gather input from the public in two meetings scheduled this week. The focus will be on public transit, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, roads and bridges and program management, according to a press release from the county.

“It is important that we have public representation on all of our boards and commissions,” said Executive Neuman. “I am committed to an open and transparent government. I want our residents to have a seat at the table and have a voice in decisions made about them and their future.”

The first of two meetings is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Annapolis High School at 6 p.m. The second will be Sept. 25 at Meade Middle School at 6 p.m.

Attendees can be involved in a question and answer session with commission members as well as officials from the county's Office of Planning and Zoning.
