Italian Market in Gambrills Closes

The Italian Market and Restaurant in Gambrills has closed its doors.

The restaurant in the Village at Waugh Chapel surprised many customers when it did not open earlier this week. 

A sign on the door of the restaurant claims that the business is closed due to renovations. However, an employee who answered the phone at the Italian Market in Annapolis said the Gambrills restaurant is closed for good, but could re-open with a different concept. 

According to two potential customers, some restaurant employees also showed up to work unaware that the restaurant had closed. 

The Italian Market is located next to the former Damon's Grill, which closed in 2011. That building remains vacant.
