Man Reports Being Held at Gunpoint in Arundel Mills Parking Lot Saturday Night
Police said a man attempted to rob a mall shopper before running into the woods of the nearby Anne Arundel Community College building.

Police flooded the parking lot of Arundel Mills mall in Hanover Saturday night after they received a call that a man with a handgun attempted to rob a patron leaving the shopping center.
According to a release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, an anonymous caller informed police that he or she witnessed a man point a gun at another individual.
As officers responded to the call, they were flagged down by a 38-year-old man who said he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery in the parking lot of Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), across from the movie theater.

The 38-year-old told police was getting into his car when he was approached by a man with a handgun. The victim resisted the man’s demands even though the suspect threatened to shoot him, according to the release.
The man eventually ran into the wooded area near the AACC building without obtaining any property from the victim, according to police.

Once police arrived, officers searched the surrounding area with K-9 units, mall security and an aviation unit, but were unable to find the man.
