Man Shot In Severn, Drug Distribution Evidence Found On Scene: Police

A man was shot in a Severn neighborhood. A backpack with drug distribution evidence was found on the scene, police said.

SEVERN, MD — A 24-year-old man was shot recently in Severn, police announced Monday. He's expected to survive.

Officers said the shooting happened Saturday around 3:30 a.m. at Averill Court and Stillmeadows Drive. That's located in the Stillmeadows townhome community.

The driver of a passing vehicle picked up the victim, officers said.

Authorities said they soon after located that vehicle 3.3 miles away at Telegraph Road and Reece Road.

Fire department personnel then took the victim to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

Officers said they found a backpack containing suspected drug distribution evidence at the scene. Investigators did not speculate on whose bag it was.

Authorities said they searched the area but couldn't find any suspects.
