A Meade High School graduate recently won $2,000 for her efforts to combat substance abuse.
Yigi “Yvette” Yu earned the top prize in the Western Anne Arundel Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition media contest, for her poster entry "Our Future Is Your Choice."
WASP praised Yu's entry for it's strong anti-substance abuse message. The coalition is funded through a grant from the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.
Yu plants to attend the University of Maryland, College Park this fall.
