New Craft Store Opens In Anne Arundel County

GAMBRILLS, MD — Michaels opened a craft store Friday in the Crofton Station shopping center, located in Gambrills.

The soft launch was this past weekend, but the grand opening is this upcoming Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the 27th Michaels in Maryland and the fourth in Anne Arundel County. The others are in Annapolis, Glen Burnie and Hanover.

The new Michaels is located at 1161 Maryland Route 3 North, Suite 103. It's open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Michaels partially filled the vacancy left by Giant Food, which moved across the street in January 2023.

Crofton Station has undergone some changes since Giant relocated.

The former Giant space has since been split into three storefronts. The Fresh Market grocery store will open in one slot by the end of the year. A Snap Fitness gym will fill the other space.

Always Ice Cream is also opening soon in the former Philly Pretzel Factory a few units away.

None of the other new tenants have announced exact opening dates.

Other new businesses that opened since Giant left include Chase Bank, Nekter Juice Bar, Taichi Bubble Tea and Sugaring NYC.
