The community is invited to welcome the new pastor of Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church with a special pot-luck picnic next month.
Rev. Charles Carr will deliver his first sermons on July 14, and the church is advertising a "Carr-Nival" to welcome him.
The picnic will run for noon to 2 p.m. and will feature a batting cage, moon bounce, face painting and other activities.
The church welcomes Carr not long after it said farewell to Rev. Ken Humbert, who retired.
