One Killed in Crash on Parkway Overnight

The fire department said a car rolled over at about 1:30 a.m. near the junction at Route 175.

One person died after a crash on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway early Wednesday morning, a fire department spokesman said. 

Emergency crews responded at about 1:40 a.m. to a report of an incident involving a single car on the Parkway northbound near Route 175, according to Division Chief Keith Swindle, of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. 

Swindle said the crash involved a single sedan that had rolled over. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Information on the victim's identity was not immediately available. 

Swindle said lanes on the Parkway were blocked for an extended period of time and investigators were on the scene until about 4 a.m.
