UPDATE: Woman Killed in Crash on Telegraph Road

The single-car crash happened near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Annapolis Road in Odenton. The northbound lane of Telegraph Road was blocked for much of rush hour.

Updated (Saturday 11:38 a.m.) — Anne Arundel County police have identified the woman killed in a crash on Telegraph Road in Odenton Friday.

Police identified the victim as Christina Marie Tobash of Baltimore. 

According to a police press release, Tobash was driving a Ford Explorer north on Maryland Route 170 just south of the intersection with Annapolis Road. She was in the right lane but moved to the left lane to avoid cars stopped at a red light.

Police said Tobash continued through the red light at Annapolis Road but then lost control of the SUV. The car went off the right side of the road and struck a curb, then a utility pole. 

Police said the Explorer bounce off the pole and then overturned several times before going through a 6-foot high fence. Tobash was ejected from the SUV and died on the scene.

Police said speed appears to be a factor in the collission, but that it's still unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role. The investigation is ongoing.
