Perry's to Hold Event for 'Locks of Love'

Restaurant owner Kristos Miliotis will cut off his ponytail for charity, and guests can also enter to cut off his beard.

Things are going to get a little hairy at Perry's Restaurant in Odenton later this month.

The restaurant will hold a special event on Jan. 20 with Locks of Love, offering free trims with hair to be used to help children with hair loss.

Locks of Love is a charity that makes free hairpieces for underprivileged children who have lost hair due to medical conditions.

Perry's owner Kristos Miliotis is expected to cut off and donate his ponytail as part of the event. In addition, guests can pay to enter a raffle to cut off Miliotis' beard. (The beard hair can't be donated, but the financial proceeds will go to support Locks of Love.)

All tips to hairdressers will go to Locks of Love, and anyone who makes a monetary donation will get a free meal.

Locks of Love will accept hair longer than 10 inches, including hair that has been dyed. Bleached hair will not be accepted, and the charity asks that hair be bunched into a ponytail or braided.

The first 10 children to donate their hair will get a free teddy bear.

The Locks of Love event will run from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Perry's on Jan. 20.
