Patch got a sneak preview of the new store. Here's what you can expect when it opens Sunday.
Workers at Wegmans are putting the finishing touches on the new Gambrills store, in anticipation of the Grand Opening on Sunday.
Doors will open at 7 a.m., and company officials said there could be thousands lined up to enter before the doors open. (At the store in Columbia, some Wegmans enthusiasts camped out overnight in sleeping bags, a company spokesman said.)
The store will have 29 checkout lanes. All of them will be manned on Sunday, except for the four self-checkout stations.

There are many sections and departments to the store, but it's easiest to think of the store in three sections. When you walk through the main entrance, you'll see produce straight ahead. To the right is a traditional-style grocery store. To the left is the Market Cafe where you can buy hot meals and eat them right in the store.
Wegmans is 125,000 square feet in size and will employ 500 people. Though it will open at 7 a.m. Sunday, its usual hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight.
