Severn Community Center 5K Postponed
A lack of signups has pushed the race to Nov. 2 at Kinder Farm Park.

A 5K race to benefit the Severn Community Health and Wellness Center has been postponed due to a lack of signups.Â
The race will be moved to Nov. 2, and will take place at Kinder Farm Park in Millersville.Â
"Hopefully, this will allow avid runners to join us," said Stacey Schiano, fund development manager with Peoples Community Health Centers.

Peoples and community members are still seeking to raise funds for the center, which would be located adjacent to Van Bokkelen Elementary School. The center would consist of a health component to serve the Severn community and a space for recreational activities, classes and other resources.
It recently got $1.9 million included in the county's fiscal budget for 2014, but has thousands more to raise. Supporters are hoping for a groundbreaking on the center by next year.Â
