Here's a look at the big events coming up this week in west Anne Arundel County.

We're all staying up late these days watching playoff baseball. But the news is still coming at us like fastballs.

These five events top the list of things going on in the Odenton-Severn area. 

Meet the Candidates

When: Tuesday, 6:45 p.m.
Where: Waugh Chapel Community Center
Details: Candidates for U.S. Congress and Senate will be on hand for the meeting of the Greater Crofton Council. The lineup includes Rep. Donna Edwards and congressional candidates Faith Loudon, Eric Knowles and Tony O'Donnell, as well as Senate candidate Dan Bongino.

Crofton Redistricting Meeting

When: Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Where: Crofton Meadows Elementary School, 2020 Tilghman Dr., Crofton. 
Details: The redistricting committee charged with finding ways to reduce overcrowding at Nantucket Elementary will hold its third meeting.

Meet the MARC Managers

When: Tuesday, 3-6 p.m.
Where: Gates B/C, Union Station, Washington, DC.
Details: How has your commute been recently? Managers from MARC and Amtrak will be on hand to answer questions and address concerns. You may even get some free goodies. 

Police-Community Relations Council Meeting
 
When: Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Western District Police Station, 8274 Telegraph Rd., Odenton
Details: This month, the council will hear from Stacy Overbay, the domestic violence officer for Western District. The meeting is open to the public. 


Arundel Football vs. Broadneck

When: Friday, 6:30
Where: Arundel High School
Details: The Wildcats are still undefeated after a big win over Old Mill last week. Now they try to keep the momentum going against a solid Bruins team. And it's Homecoming, so the crowd should be super-spirited.
