Wegmans To Donate Truckload of Food

The new store will make a large donation to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank on Thursday morning.

Employees from the new Wegmans store at the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre will deliver $30,000 in food to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank this week.

About 30 workers will accompany a tractor trailer to the food bank on Thursday at 10 a.m., according to a press release from the store. The delivery will include 20 pallets containing staples of canned vegetables, cereeal, baking ingredients and some meal starters.

Wegmans said that it will continue to donate to the food bank after the store opens, likely giving away perishable baked goods, produce and dairy items.
