Baltimore County Educational Video Game Honored

County school staff and Break Away games developed the "Perfect World" game.

A game inspired by students and developed by Baltimore County school staff game developer Break Away games has been selected one of the best “serious games” in the nation.

The game, titled “Perfect World,” was recognized during the Serious Game and Challenge Showcase that evaluate games designed to educate and train. It will be on display in December at the 2013 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in Orlando, Fla., according to a news release.

The game was developed from the idea of then-Woodlawn High School Students Rufus and Rachael Carter. The game puts players in the place of a water molecule and takes them on a journey through the water cycle, according to the school system.
