Horse Rescued After Falling Into Pit In Baltimore County
The rescue took place Tuesday at an address in Reisterstown, according to officials.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A horse was rescued by Baltimore and Howard County fire crews on Thursday after it fell into a 10-foot pit, according to officials.
Crews were called to the 13300 block of Old Hanover Road in Reisterstown around 7:20 a.m. for a confined space animal rescue, the Baltimore County Fire Department said in a statement.
When crews arrived, they discovered the horse had walked over a wooden plank, which gave way and caused the animal to fall into the pit below.

According to officials, crews sedated the horse before it was extricated from the pit around 9:30 a.m. with crane assistance from a local towing company.
The horse appeared to be uninjured, but was placed under a veterinarian's care following the incident.

Approximately 30 Baltimore County firefighters assisted with the rescue.
